Opti is the international trade show for the optical industry, and was held in January 2019 in Munich to allow 630 exhibitors to present trends and innovations from ophtalmic lenses, low vision products, technical and optical diagnostic equipment to machine manufacturers.
This year's focus topic "Customer Journey" showed once more that not only B2C but also B2B experiences revolve more and more around the customer. Being easy to buy from with quick and complete offers and delivering a high level of customer service is a challenge especially for manufacturers of complex machines or precision optics solutions in the industry.
We took the opportunity to network with manufacturers, such as our customer Satisloh at the exhibition and took part in discussions around the topic of industry 4.0, with the key questions being:
- Digital information and communication:
Which technologies empower communication and collaboration for manufacturers of machines and optics solutions to ultimately increase customer satisfaction?
- Digital production and automation:
How can digitalization and automation in production be leveraged to retain or increase margins with the help of a Manufacturing Sales Platform?
- Digital process management:
How can digitalization further professionalize and optimize business processes in highly integrated IT landscapes?
- Digital services and smart services
Which role does parts and aftermarket sales play for market penetration and how to facilitate it with the help of a sales portal?
Opti 2019 reflected the importance of this topic within "OPTIC 4.0 - Digital Solutions" to show how relevant digitalization is for the industry.
